Sara Morris

Grossmont Adult School

Sara Morris was one of those people for whom the regular education system is not a good fit. She was unhappy at her high school, unable to motivate herself to attend, and while experiencing serious health problems, she fell behind. Sara chose to attend Grossmont Adult School because the school offered a schedule that appealed to her. In 1993,at the age of 18, she graduated from Grossmont Adult School and this became the turning point in her life.

Sara went on to attend Cuyamaca Community College where she excelled in Spanish. She became president of the Spanish Club and made several special study trips to Mexico. She graduated with degrees in Spanish and History. Sara then transferred to the University of California, San Diego where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Latin American History.

After graduation, Sara started working at the San Diego Natural History Museum on a cross-cultural environmental education program with the schools in Baja California, Mexico.

Sara is currently preparing to take the L-SAT and she plans to continue her education and study Immigrtion Law.
