Leada Allahwerdi
Turlock Adult School
Leada Allahwerdi's path to success in adult education began at Turlock Adult School shortly after she arrived in the United States in 1979. It led her to Central Valley Foster Care in Riverbank, CA, on March 3, 2003, where she now works as a Licensed Social Worker.
Leada first enrolled in English as a Second Language classes at Turlock Adult School. She quickly mastered English enough to enroll in academic classes and begin work toward a high school diploma. Receiving her diploma in 1993 she enrolled in Modesto Junior College and earned an AA Degree.
In 1997 Leada began work on her Bachelor's Degree while working at Turlock Adult School as an instructional aide. Earning her Bachelor's Degree at the same time as one of her daughters, Leada then enrolled in a Masters program at California State University, Stanislaus. As part of her Masters in Social Work program she worked at the Human Services Agency in Merced, the Sierra Vista Children's Center in Modesto, and the Community Services Agency in Modesto. Leada received her Masters Degree in Social Welfare in May 2002.
While completing her academic agenda, Leada also raised three lovely daughters, Caroline, Katherine, and Linda Maria. The youngest, Linda Maria, participated in the MGM Program at Dutcher Elementary School and is now a freshman at Pitman High School. Leada has certainly earned admiration and congratulations for her impressive accomplishments.
