Abram Friedman Occupational Center is a full-time Regional Occupational Center operated by the Los Angeles Unified School District's Division of Adult and Career Education. AFOC offers career technical education courses, ESL, ABE/GED and high school diploma classes, and serves over 9,000 students annually.

Classes are taught by credentialed, experienced instructors with many community and industry contacts. Placement assistance and employment referrals are provided to successful completers.

A Special Services staff is available to assist students. Academic and basic skills tutoring, reinforcement of vocational course work, sign language interpreting and job placement assistance are available for students with physical, learning, emotional and developmental disabilities and for enrollees who are hearing or visually impaired or have a history of substance abuse. Clients of the State Department of Rehabilitation are eligible for Workability II job placement assistance.
