LAMP Literacy

The mission of the Bruggemeyer Memorial Library is to meet the cultural, educational, and informational needs of the residents of the City of Monterey Park by providing free and open access to its resources and services. The LAMP Program is one avenue of fulfilling this mission

The Bruggemeyer Memorial Library was one of the first libraries in California to offer literacy services as part of the California Literacy Campaign (CLC), sponsored by the California State Library. Since 1984, LAMP (Literacy for All of Monterey Park) has been committed to helping individuals of the community to improve their skills so that they can reach their goals and fulfill their dreams. Trained volunteers in one-to-one, and small group settings provide tutoring for all ages.
