LAUSD/DACE - East Los Angeles Skills Center

The East Los Angeles Skills Center (ELASC) is part of Los Angeles Unified School District's Division of Adult and Career Education. We have been providing high-quality, low-cost education and training since 1966. Students can prepare for a new career, earn a high school diploma or HiSET, learn English, or upgrade skills for an existing career.

At East Los Angeles Skills Center we will help you plan and meet your goals. We "empower" you by providing accelerated learning opportunities: Short-term, hands-on real world, training in high demand careers; English (ESL) language acquisition; High School Diploma or High School equivalency Certificate; and Transition to College.

Mission Statement

Los Angeles Skills Center and Eastside Learning Center, in collaboration with community-based organizations and industry, will provide high-quality career technical and academic training empowering students to become productive citizens through employment and education.

School-Wide Learning Outcomes

  • Effective oral and written communication to promote employability and life skills.

  • Technical career skills for employment and personal application.
