Jesus Gurrola graduated from the Program for the Deaf at Birmingham High School in 1987. After working at Von’s Supermarkets for several years, he wanted to learn a skill that would increase his earning potential. Jesus heard about Abram Friedman Occupational Center from his sister who worked there and enrolled in the welding class. Two years of training earned Jesus a Certificate in Welding. He passed the State Board Exam and has been a welder for several years.
Jesus is now married, has three children, owns his own home and is in the process of buying a new home. Freidman Occupational Center is proud of Jesus’ accomplishments and being able to contribute to his success.
