North Orange Co. Community College School of Continuing Education

The North Orange County Community College District School of Continuing Education (SCE) enrolls 65,000 students annually in a wide range of non credit classes offered in four Continuing Education Centers and 150 community-based sites.

The SCE ESL Program enrolls approximately 15,000 students annually in all levels of ESL, Citizenship, and specialty classes including Accent Reduction and VESL classes. The ESL Program is available at 3 of the Continuing Education Centers and approximately 80 off campus locations, including elementary schools, churches, community based organizations, senior centers, and community centers throughout the cities of Anaheim, Garden Grove, Cypress, Stanton, Fullerton, Buena Park, Placentia, Los Alamitos, and Yorba Linda.

The High School Diploma Program enrolls students to improve Basic Skills while others work to complete their High School diploma. In 2005, 223 students graduated from the program receiving their high school diploma.

Students enrolled in SCE's classes have available to them career centers at each Center and counselors are available at these Centers and at several off campus sites as well. The School attracts students through its quarterly Class Schedule mailed to 250,000 homes, through bi-lingual brochures also direct mailed to targeted neighborhoods and through community outreach events.
